Brian Threlkeld

Brian Threlkeld, Portland, ME, has had a lifelong love of the outdoors. Growing up in Minnesota, he enjoyed formative experiences in the Boundary Waters–a true wilderness setting that would help chart the course for many adventures to come. After surviving crevasse falls, charging grizzly bears and graduating from Alaska Pacific University, Brian moved to Maine in 2006 and quickly discovered Maine’s north woods. He has traveled by bike, foot and boat through many of the state’s trails and waterways in all four seasons and truly loves to suffer on his adventures (just a bit). His first foray into the monument ignited a desire to explore all the nooks and crannies of the land around the East Branch and its tributaries and he looks forward to spending the years to come traveling through KW&W. Brian works for Maine Outdoor Brands, a nonprofit alliance of product, service and retail companies working to grow Maine’s outdoor recreation economy. Additionally, he serves on the board for Rippleffect, a nonprofit dedicated to engaging youth in leadership, adventure and the outdoors.

Brian lives in Portland, ME with his wife Anna, his stepson Arlo and their wonderful lab/Pyrenees mix, Flora.
